The Rettenbach glacier in the municipality of Sölden, reaches up to 3 250m above sea level and is situated between the Big 3 (Gaislachkogel, Tiefenbachkogel and Schwarze Schneid). The glacier extensions stretch down to a height of about 2 675 m.
However, the glacier not only serves as a ski area, but is also used for countless other events. Sölden is one of the biggest winter sports centers in Tyrol. Its prominence has also greatly increased due to the number of ski world cups which have taken place here.
