Hochgurgl
Hochgurgl is the highest situated winter holiday region of the Ötz valley and is next to the road which leads to the Timmelsjoch pass. The small and quiet hotel settlement is at the foot of the perfectly groomed slopes of the skiing area Obergurgl-Hochgurgl.
Due to its altitude, Hochgurgl is known as "the most snow sure winter sports area in the Alps" with the season ranging from the middle of November up to the beginning of May. Here one can ski directly to the hotel front door.
Obergurgl/Hochgurgl is the ideal starting point for many adventures in the fascinating Alps. Obergurgl (1930 m) and Hochgurgl (2150m) are surrounded by high mountain summits ranging from 2600m to 3000m. The two cosy villages have a population of only 450. In addition to mountain excursions, there is a lot to undertake in the towns.
Vent has always been a beloved venue of mountaineers. It is also a perfect basis for cycling tours to South Tyrol in Italy. The picturesque little village of Vent is ideal to spend a quiet vacation in breathtaking surroundings. The bigger towns of Sölden and Obergurgl/Hochgurgl are close by and definitely worth a visit.
Sölden is the main town of the Ötz Valley Arena and has become an internationally renowned trainings center for professional and free-time sport enthusiasts alike. The view from the majestic Nederkogl is spectacular as it towers over Sölden at 3163 m above sea level. Accommodation is easy to find in one of the many charming hotels, pensions, chalets and mountain huts.
Zwieselstein
Zwieselstein is situated at the junction of the roads to Vent and Obergurgl/Hochgurgl. In winter, it is the ideal location from where one can explore the different skiing areas and in summer it is a good stop-over spot for trips over the Timmelsjoch pass or as starting point for mountain hikes in the surrounding regions.
Hoch-Soelden
The hotel town of Hoch-Soelden lies directly in the Giggijoch ski area at a distance of 9km from Sölden. At 2090m it is completely snow sure and it is possible to ski up to the hotel front door. It offers luxurious 4 star hotels, cosy guest houses, sunning terraces and restaurants, everything for the perfect skiing holiday.
Längenfeld is 1180m above sea level and centrally located in the Ötz valley, approximately halfway between Ötz and Sölden. It is an old town rich in culture and tradition with beautiful surroundings and offers a range of attractions to hikers and sun enthusiasts. In addition, one can enjoy thermal springs, liquid sound, whirlpools, sauna, steam baths and many more at the impressive thermal spa, the Aqua Dome.
Gries
Gries is situated in a side valley of the Ötz valley, close to Längenfeld. In winter, it is a snow sure cross-country skiing region and a small family ski area. In summer it is attractive for mountain hiking and relaxation in the untouched Alpine scenery.

[Translate to English:] Das Ötztal ist eines der größten Tourismusregionen in Tirol und besonders bekannt für seine Winterskiorte. Insgesamt liegt die Übernächtigungszahl pro Jahr bei über 3 Millionen, wobei stark zwischen dem hinteren und dem vorderen Ötztal unterschieden werden sollte.
Im hinteren Ötztal dominiert der Wintertourismus und die Ortschaften wurden immer weiter ausgebaut. Neue Liftanlagen und Hotels wurden gebaut und immer weitere Teile der Gletscherregion erschlossen (die erste Sesselliftanlage wurde 1948 in Betrieb genommen). Heute werden den Wintertouristen mehrere Hundert Kilometer bestens präparierte Pisten - unter anderem auch am Tiefenbachgletscher und am Rettenbachgletscher - zur Verfügung gestellt. Am Rettenbachgletscher finden auch Ski-Weltcup Rennen statt, durch welche besonders Sölden an Bekanntheit und Beliebtheit gewann.
Im vorderen Ötztal herrscht ein milderes Klima, was zu einer zweisaisonalen Auslegung des Tourismus führt. Im Sommer wird viel geboten, angefangen von Wanderungen über Rafting, Kajak fahren und Canyoning bis hin zu Mountainbiketouren. Genauso kommt hier aber der Wintertourismus nicht zu Kurz, auch wenn er bei weitem nicht so intensiv ausgebaut wurde wie in den hinteren Regionen.
